A very harrowing story from start to finish, 2006-12-14 I read this book as part of my degree course and I didn't realise what an impact it would have on me....it moved me. The author has written a detailed story of what happened to James Bulger from when he was at the Strand with Denise to when his body was found. But thankfully and sensitively he has left out the horrific details of James' injuries. With that in mind this book is still difficult to read. It takes you on a roller coster ride of events that the family of James experienced and left me very distressed at some points. Please be aware this book is not for the faint- hearted but nontheless is a fascinating book.

no choice but seduction, 2008-07-19 when i first started reading this book i thought i was not going to like it,but i carried on reading it and was glad i did.boyd and katey are made for each other but only boyd seems to know this.he put up with a lot from katey what with sea sickness and receiving abloody nose and black eye from tony i would say he really did love her.a great book and i simply must mention james and tony, they really do make me laugh. malory books would not be the same without those two in them.i cannot wait for the younger malory children to grow up and fall in love.

Excellent , 2008-08-27 Lucy Sharpe goes back into the field to solve a case and free an innocent woman. What she doesn't want is to lose control and with Jack Culver along she might just do that. Talk about opposites attract because these to people are opposites. The book twists and turns from the first to the last page and leaves you wanting more.
Now You Die ends a trilogy and gives the reader an insight into what make Lucy Sharpe tick. It makes you realise she has dealt with many blows and has survived and she may evetually even be happy.

Excellent resource for learning 'pack leadership', 2008-05-17 For those who want to expand their knowledge and abilities with dog leadership skills this book provides valuable tools for achieving that goal. Every episode from Cesar Millan's first 3 series of 'The Dog Whisperer' is reviewed and analysed. This in depth analysis helps to make very real the method which Cesar uses.
Unlike 'dog training' Cesar and others who follow the 'pack system' focus on creating harmony and balance in our dogs. We use our dog's natural and hard wired instincts to create change which allow them to 'be themselves'. This method helps to meet our dogs needs rather than us just getting our needs met when we get love and affection from our dogs.
This book allows us to get a much deeper understanding of the way Cesar uses the 'power of pack leadership' to help create happy balanced dogs. The book also gives follow ups which help to see that even with Cesar's help some dogs and their owners are unable to make the desired changes.
This book provides a valuable guide that is well written and very concise. Whatever breed of dog you have, whatever age and whatever your dogs problems you will find help in the pages of this book.

Brad Thor

Simply told story simply brilliantly told., 2007-08-02 I have loved every Brad Thor book bar Blowback which did not involve Scot Harvarth. This one is so great as it takes over completely seemlessly from the Takedown that was astonishing. This book is not quite Takedown but a brilliant read and amazing characters such as the Troll who controls a hive of data sold to the highest bidder who owns 2 massive dogs. The way Thor brings in characters from the past books and expands on the characters of the President and his aides is brilliant and the action both original and breat taking. Only 1 piece of advise is to read the Scot Harvarth books in order starting with his best The Lions Of Lucerne. You will love them!

James Lee Burke

Evil's Gravity, 2008-07-09 James Lee Burke's latest novel, Swan Peak, is another chapter in the life of his troubled character Dave Robicheaux. It is set in the wilds of Montana rather than the lush lands of Louisiana. An early novel, Black Cherry Blues was similarly set against the Montana backdrop of mountains and grazing land.
This time Dave and his friend Cletus Purcell are ostensibly taking a well earned break from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina. At one point Dave reflects, in a beautifully constructed paragraph, of how the intersections in his life seem practically predetermined as is the attraction of iron filings for a magnet. There is a sense of evil in the first few pages as Clete is bullied by some unpleasant characters who move him off the territory of a rich landowner. It is surely a craft of very few authors to write so infectiously and to create such a sense of bad things to come as does James Lee Burke.
The story is set around the rich landowner and some gruesome killings in the same area. It has, rather like an airliner, a smooth and progressive glide slope to a climax rather than a landing. As a reader one is drawn and even captivated by each turn of the screw.
Woven into this story are some old and some new characters along with just a hint of romance. One or two descriptions of the Montana environment are reminiscent of early Lee Burke writing about Louisiana and I have to say I wish there were more of these.
Quite where Lee Burke gets his material from is a mystery but how he creates such an art from whatever the source is very impressive. It is, yet again, a great read and I'm glad to say the author still retains those qualities of writing that attracted me to the Robicheaux novels all those years ago.
