Average rating of 5/5 A rich variety of puzzles, 2007-02-18
A very nice book, this one, with 100's of several types of puzzles, most of which I hadn't seen before including Corral, Deja Vu (a quite easy type for a change!), Eminent Domain, Alternate Corners, Variations of Battleships, Dominoes, End View, Hex Loops, Lighthouses, Minesweeper, Nurikabe, Rain Clouds, Skyscrapers (my own favourite), Spiral Galaxies, Snaky Tiles, Square Routes, Tents (another favourite), Fences, Pentomino Fences, Oxtails, Spokes & Number Place (Jigsaw Sudoku).

Plenty of original entertainment for puzzle enthusiasts for a fiver! Absolutely recommended.

Average rating of 5/5 This is a fascinating and entertaining book, 2000-12-20
This is a fascinating and entertaining book, written by one of the worlds most respected bartenders. Not only does it describe how to prepare many classic cocktails, it also tells you how to make the cocktail which is the choice of connoisseurs all over the world. The history and evolution of the cocktail, its illegal consumption during the Prohibition Years and the cocktail the Russian leader Kruschev described as America's lethal weapon, are all included. Wherever possible the history, myth and legend are included for these classic drinks, which makes for an extremely interesting read. Classic drinks and fascinating small talk, make an irresistable cocktail of pleasure and relaxation all of their own. It's a great book.

Average rating of 4/5 Great Book, 2008-07-29
This book is great for anyone who has a rubik's cube. Anyone who can do a 3x3 normally can jump to the speedcubing methods, but it also has a beginner method for anyone who doesn't already know it, or does not know how to solve a rubik's cube. This book also has solutions for the other rubik's cubes i.e. 2x2, 4x4 £ 5x5, which I am going to look at.

Average rating of 5/5 Fantastic!, 2008-06-05
I recieved this book this morning, and even though I had been waiting a while for it, it was definately worth the wait. For less than £7 theres 62 hair designs, each with photo step-by-steps.

With some hair books, I find that they have very few styles that brides/bridesmaids/prom girls will go for because the majority are catwalk styles. This book is very different. Most of the styles can be worn and the rest can be adapted slightly.

Definately well worth the money.

Average rating of 5/5 Embark on a Lateral Adventure, 2006-10-03
I have been an avid fan of lateral thinking puzzles from youth upwards. There are a number of "classics" that you come across over and over. If I were to mention the albatross, midget and countless dead bodies, you might know what I mean! However, here we have a compilation of brand new puzzles to satisfy our appetites. These are bright and fresh from novel ideas but they remain faithful to the classical formula. They have the vital lateral twist and retain the ability to leave you either clapping one hand to your forehead in dismay or brimming over with triumph when you succeed.

The variety is of puzzles is worth a mention. There is a wide range of scenarios, including a good number taken from real life. Some are relatively easy whilst an equal number are very difficult. There is something for everyone here - it should suit most tastes.

This book is ideal for entertaining your family or friends for an evening indoors or on a long journey. It will grip their attention, stimulate their imagination and test their lateral thinking skills, in search of the solution.

Average rating of 5/5 It Works!!!, 2008-01-01
I don't usually review books unless they really are good, either it's fiction or non-fiction. In this case it's non-fiction and it WORKS!

I was heavy drinker for several years now and lately had started to get more and more hints from friends that I had to do something. Not that I lost my job or anything that serious (at least not until then) but I was drinking more than I wanted to, spending more money and had already hurt some people that are really important to me. I saw the reviews for this book and decided to buy it!

Halfway through I was sure I was going to stop drinking for sure and indeed I did! No deprivation at all. No willpower needed. Allen Carr explains to you the real truth about alcohol and why it is easy, so easy, to stop. Since then I have been feeling better, haven't missed on anything and enjoy every occasion more.

This book really is a life changer for those who really want to change! I strongly recommend it.

Oh, and by the way. This book paid for itself on the first day I quited drinking on account of those three scotch whiskeys that I used to have each day ;)

Average rating of 5/5 Like to stitch, 2008-07-30
This book is a refreshing change from traditional embroidery books. It's modern and inspiring. Ideal for beginners. It concentrates on about 18 basic stitches to create a range of designs. No counting or measuring. Lot's of clear and bright photographs and only minimum equipment required. I can't wait to get started.

Finally I found the book which expressed the quirky somethings I've always imagined making. The book is fun, the monsters awesome (and truly inspires you to make your own little twists) and the instructions are easy!

Average rating of 5/5 Wonderful, 2007-09-27
A marvellous book, pictures are wonderful, only minor niggle is that the author quotes figures in miles otherwise a wonderful book with the pictures taking pride of place, pity there isn't a DVD to show movement.
