One of the funniest books I have ever read, 2010-07-08 Well written and hysteriacally funny, this book contains the author's recollections of camping holidays as a child. Her descriptions are wonderful and so vivid that you feel that you are seeing them first hand Do not read on public transport as it is laugh out loud funny.I will be looking for more books by Emma Kennedy.

Opinion Changing Racing Read, 2010-07-05 Firstly, like 95% of the people who will read this book, I am a keen cyclist.
Secondly, like 95% of people who will read this book, I had a low opinion of Cav as a cyclist. His arrogance, the swagger, then no bull attitude that comes with him doesnt wash with all.
This book changed my opinion of the lad. It is very well written and I love how its chapters (or as the book calls them, Stages) phase in and out so seamlessly from his early childhood, to when he was at the academy, then as a pro with T-Mobile and finally with HTC.
This book is a must read for all pro cycling fans weather youre a Cav fan or not. I read it within two days, I just couldnt put it down.

Refreshingly Frank and Disarming, 2010-07-28 I just raced through this book on holiday and wet my pants. I'm just hoping that's because the book's really funny and not because I'm nearly 40 too and becoming incontinent.

One of the best, 2010-07-12 This is truly, one of the best books I have personally ever read. Danny's little stories are just fantastically funny - you can't put the book down. If you are thinking of reading one story (of about 100) per day, then you are sadly mistaken. This was the idea I had, and then after two days I had finished the book. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age. Don't be put off if you're a woman - it isn't sexually biased.

Baby food so good you will want to eat it yourself!, 2010-07-12 I was lent a copy of this book when my son was tiny - I liked it so much I bought my own copy, and I now have a happy healthy (hungry!) 1 year old who eats just about anything and everything - fruit, veg, chicken, beef, fish, lamb ...
Its just such an easy book to follow, from first flavours to 12 months. The recipes are dead easy, you only need a hand blender or a basic food processor, and my little boy still enjoys so many of the recipes (I just chop them now instead of pureeing). In fact a couple of the dishes are so delicious (especially My First Beef Casserole) I make them for me and hubby as well as my son!
We're about ready to move on to Toddler foods now, but if you're about to start weaning and want to cook your own baby foods, I can't recommend this book enough.

A must have, 2010-07-29 When you have your first baby there's loads of people giving advice about your baby. What i found is that mummy knows best really and to follow your instincts. My baby was 4 months and the milk was just not enough as she was putting her hands in her mouth, etc after feed. The advice is to only ween after 6 months. After I read a few pages of this book it gave me confidence to start weening and showed what is good and what to avoid step by step through weening. It has receipies and best methods. A few other mums in my NCT group have/are also getting this book.

What a delight, this book, 2010-07-29 I collect cook books, but in fact, I rarely cook from a book and rather use them as an inspiration. One of the very few exceptions is "Plenty": the last two weekends I took some of the recipes each day and made them after Mr. Ottolenghi's description (his polenta from fresh corn, or the goat cheese souffle, omg...). And will continue next weekend as well - a pure delight ! (And I'm not even a vegetarian...)
Suitable for beginners as well !

Wonderful nostalgia, 2010-06-25 Oh, I did enjoy this book. It was so comical and true to life. It reminded me very much of the old days when I was a child and 'nursey' would visit my mum after she'd given birth to my younger sister. The anecdotes are soooo funny. Well worth the read.

Pacific, 2010-07-15 An excellent book, and this brings the horror of war perhaps never before written so explicit.

Yummy, yummy, 2010-07-02 I bought this book after seeing 'Plenty' on a friends bookshelf and decided to take a look here and see what it's all about.
The reviews sold it for me and the book has stood up to expectations.
There are LOTS of the things that I like to eat, flavoursome salads, new ideas for family chicken dishes (which went down really well, even with my fussy 3 year old) and gorgeous looking meringues and sweet things which I haven't tried yet but which definitely fall into the category of 'food porn'.
Well worth a look.
