Read with the light on!, 2010-05-08 There isn only one word for it"AWESOME". This is the ultimate page turner that will leave you shocked after every chapter. The plot is very believable and the charectures especially the killer are as real as they come.
I wont ruin it for anybody but all i will say is, if you want a book that will leave you wanting more after every chapter than this is it. Read with the light on just incase the Tooth Fairy comes!!

Harris strikes again., 2010-05-08 This is the last one in the Hannibal Lecture series i have read. It was a very solid read that kept the pages turning throughout. Although i would say this is not quite as good as Red Dragon or Silence of the Lambs it is on par with Hannibal. The plot is solid and very believable and the charectures are awesome and savage especially Grutus.
The book is not as graphic as the other 3 but still leaves plenty to the imagination.
A solid page turner that lives up to the Hannibal series.

data management, 2010-04-09 An informative read which I can recommend to anyone working in the field of data management or analytics. Although the first part of the book sets the scene, which may be of lesser interest to readers, it progressively gets more interesting, particularly in respect of how to build and integrate an analytical capacity across your organisation and how to lead analytical teams.

Hannibal. Dr Hannibal Lecter. "A brief silence follows the name, always, in any civilized gathering," wrote Thomas Harris at the beginning of his stunning The Silence of the Lambs in 1988. You don't want him in your head, you don't want you in his head. Now, a decade later, Lecter is back--ready to take up his place as one of the cult figures of contemporary fiction. Almost a modern myth, in fact, if the scale, and thrill, of the publication of Hannibal is anything to go by. Harris's book is "news": not only "book news" but "real" news, one of the biggest publishing events of the decade in terms of print run (one million copies worldwide), film rights (Hollywood has paid six million dollars for the book: Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore will star) and cultural cachet. The serial killer--like his counterpart, the psychologist-profiler--is a figure for our times; "In the contemporary mind," as one psychoanalyst, Christopher Bollas, has put it, "the serial killer is the statement of evil". Psychiatrist and killer, Lecter gives a peculiar twist to that evil (and Harris has always been interested in the precarious division between killer and cure). In Red D...
A Great Conclusion, 2009-03-24 Having read the three other books by Harris (including Hannibal Rising, Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs) I was looking forward to reading this last instalment. As in the other Harris books it is so much more than just your average crime/ thriller book. We are given great psychological perspectives into all of the characters so the reader gets a very intimate look into what makes the character's 'tick'. We are once again introduced to Hannibal who by now has escaped from prison killing five and who is on the run from the authorities in Europe lavishing once again in the `haut couture' of life that he loves. Clarice Starling also plays a major role in this novel as she has been recruited to try and hunt Hannibal once more as she had the closest relationship with him than anyone else. Here we also meet Mason Verger a sadistic character who is out to catch Lecter and punish him for the crimes that he had committed against Verger. Throughout the story you are taken from one situation to the next and Harris is great at taking a number of different situations and making them flow together with great ease. The ending of this book leaves you with a feeling for more as, I have found with the other novels in this trilogy.
One thing that I would criticise this book for is that some of the ideas are quite obscure. Some may argue that this is just what makes this book great, but at times it seems rather too `far out'. All in all however this book is a great one and I'm sure most Harris fans could pardon him for this one minor fault.

Great follow on, 2010-06-02 This provides an excellent sequel to the first. I think anyone managing people at higher levels can use this for a good purpose and physically see the anarchy that people go through and not realising the how easy communication can be. It has provided excellent conversation with colleagues, friends and my partner and I have recommend it to co managers within my field of work. For any teachers or people dealing with students - once you have read the first you must read this. You can have a lot of fun with it but it's also an invaluable tools for certain problematic situations. And on a personal I have found it useful for reflection and improving myself and my own methods of communication and personal practice. Excellent and fascinating to sum it all up!!!

BOOK AMAZING! FILM FLOPPED, 2010-07-01 this is my first ever review and maybe my last, here goes.
I saw the film when I was in my early teens and only excited by the guts, gore, thrills and chills without taking into account the plot. Fast Forward 15years + and I have this book in hand not anticipating how much this book is going to BLOW MY MIND!
The relationship and insight you build with the characters and visualisation of your environment is completely absorbing, the dialect and the pace stays consistent with each page. It truly takes you to a darker place.
As I was reading the book I was getting flashbacks of the film piecing it all together, with my urge to watch the film raising higher and higher with every page. After completing the book I had to buy the film in blu ray with anticipation of a great night in. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT - The film left so much out that it did not do SOTL any justice! I just hope they decide to do a re-make.
