This is a great book - one of the best I have seen for demonstrating how to plan writing. If you are an NQT or new teacher then this is the book for you. It may not be in line with the new strategy, but it is great. It has great sample texts for analysis, excellent marking ladders and a daily plan of teaching sesions. The book only provides you planning for key sessions - but its great to have a good idea of how to plan a literay unit progressively. There are no sentence or word level activities, but there are some ideas at the back of the book. I am not a fan of Scholastic's 100 even though they are in line with the new framework. This is a great publication for teachers.
