INTERESTING READ...., 2007-11-19 I enjoyed reading this book. The stories were short, and meant that you could read as much or little as you wanted at any time. There was just enough information to satisfy my curiosity, but not too much to bore me. I found this to be an enjoyable read.

Too much filler!, 2010-01-08 Its become a bit of a hobby horse of mine but marvels habit of padding out Bendis's graphic novels with filler really gets my goat. The comic part of this is fine, good artwork, generally tight writing an enjoyable read, unfortunately this accounts for only about half of the page count. The rest of the book consists of an interview with the author and marvel universe character profiles (interesting to some I am sure...but not what I paid for).

The Rough Guide to Wales, 2009-04-24 The Rough Guide to Wales (Rough Guide Travel Guides)
An excellent guide.
Very comprehensive coverage. As with all other Rough Guides I have used, this one packs an astounding amount of information into its 570 pages. It is well structured and indexed and easy to use on-the-move. It is, in my opinion, well illustrated, that is to say not over-illustrated at the expense of information. Those seeking a glossy travel guide may be disappointed by the Rough Guide approach which is to provide a set of appetite-whetter photos in the "Introduction" and "Things not to miss" sections at the front, but for the main body of the guide, illustrations consist primarily of such things as clear town plans and detailed local area maps, with a relatively small number of mainly black-and-white photos. But if it's practical information you want, from clear descriptions of the countless recommended places to visit, historical and cultural references, contextual notes, opening times and tariffs, walks, hiking trails, transport, accommodation, eating, drinking and entertainment, and a myriad things to look out for, to see and to do, this is THE guide to Wales.

girl who also adores maps, 2010-06-25 having been caught up in the recent BBC 4 series about maps and seen the map exhibit at the British Library, you could say that this work complements the current fashionable trend for interest in maps. This book is funny, informative and adopts an unashamedly personal orientation to the world of maps and mapping. There are humorous asides that may offend some, but may also have others sniggering aloud (no spoilers here). The themes incorporated include aspects of history, social psychology and modern culture in a way that integrates the ideas coherently and yet never loses its focus on geography, landscapes and the inherent wonder of the map. This book is for you if you have ever looked at any visual representation of any aspect of the world with any sense of wonder and wondered why.

Cardigan - not quite as good as the listing, 2009-06-01 One thing I'd like to mention - especially with regard to the entry for Cardigan - what time of year was the review done in? - as Cardigan on a cold wet evening in mid May is fairly desperate - especially with the current credit crunch/recession - with about a third of the high street dead & dusted; how log ago was it? - which I think the previous entry cover - and with regards to the B&B I stayed in - had they actually stayed in a single room at any of the places listed? - in this particular instance the en-suite barely having and room to swing the proverbial feline - and the bed being really only fit for a child as it was that narrow.
