Well, Simply... GREAT!, 2010-08-07 An amazing book, with detailed beautiful characters that glimmer right the way through the book. Heart rending moments described with such beauty you feel as though you are there feeling the characters pain, Feeling the interviewers outrage and then some characters pity.
a vampire novel that's not Romance and vampire's wearing beige. With 'proper' vampires you'll never forget. This is a fully fledged novel up there with the great work of Bram Stoker
What can i say? Make haste, buy the book without delay!

not sure what happened?, 2010-03-23 Loved this book as i have loved all the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles. I will not tell you what happens, because i am sure there are numerous synapsis for this book. in fact i know because i have looked. and i have read them all.
It is brilliantly delivered, difficult to put down if you like this kind of thing. Little bit strange bordering on obscene, but that i suppose is what vampires are all about.
However, i would like to ask anyone who read it, what actually happens in the end? I mean i know he gets tricked in some way by the devil, but how is what happens actually tricking him? It was a little confusing. Thought-provoking for those who are looking to buy it, and worth reading, because i am still puzzled and want to read the next one with a hope of some light coming into the matter.
If there is anyone who can explain, please do...

Defying the sexual cliche, 2009-09-09 Again, the sheer brilliant of Anne Rice. Discovering female sexuality in a slightly patriarchal style. I think it's good to see writers overcoming embarassment and writing for realism and expressing raw sexual excitement. It is a highly influential piece of erotica: if not considered so by wider society I believe it should be. Fairy tales are within themselves metaphors of darker human desire, so why not play on that with sexual implication? Personally, the constant repetition of themes within erotica has turned a lot of sexually subliminal literature into cliched sex, it is good to defy typical sex and look at the wider range and practices of human arousal.

Anne Rice simultaneously a literary genius and insane?, 2010-07-08 Why did I like this book so much? Why is Anne Rice simultaneously a literary genius and insane?
I shouldn't have liked this book, anyway; there were a lot of little things that irked me while I was reading it - but in the end, there I was completely engrossed again. Raglan is a kickass weirdo of a character (and her descriptions of his movements in the fantastically creepy lead-up to his introduction have stuck with me for half a decade now); she's still obviously a liiiittle bit too obsessively in love with her own Lestat, to the point the brattiness he (and she) takes such pride in gets annoying, but his first (re)impressions of the human world are, like everything Ricean, so expertly crafted and weirdly insightful that I ended up thinking of this book every time I drank orange juice for something like six months.
Also, he finally gets to have sex with someone! Or, you know, a lot of someones. Bizarrely, for an author whose entire oeuvre ooooozes unresolved sexual tension, it was deeply anticlimactic (har). Pages were flipped with a depressing since of Ew what do you even see in her, Eurgh he is SO OLD, Ugh you are supposed to be on a MISSION what is this, etc.
Also Louis was in it for approximately ten seconds, which is not NEARLY enough

Anne Rice's Chronicles, 2004-03-18 I have read all of the Vampire Chronicles about half a dozen or more times each and with the exception of "Vittorio", I found each as compelling as the next (although "Body Theif" does seem to sag a bit after a while) Anne Rice is an exceptional writer with a wealth of imagination. I myself have even attempted to write a book after being inspired by her work. I am currently reading "Blackwood Farm" for the third time, and I am always seeing bits that I missed the first time round. Anne Rice makes her Chronicles run consecutively and to get the gist of one, you need to read the previous.I can't wait to see if she pens Lestat's secret adventure which is said to take place while he lays helpless between the events of "Memnoch" and "Merrick"

one of my absolute FAVORITES from Anne Rice, 2010-06-05 This story is told from multiple perspectives and so we, the reader, receive a good deal of information through it. We learn the history and origin of vampires, we are introduced to more characters in which we learn to love and despise, we are presented with a villain and even the possibility of betrayal from one of our most beloved of the undead. This store is amazing and knocks the reader off their feet. It seems almost at times like a second half of the Vampire Lestat, but make no mistake. This book stands on its own accord and is one of the best known of the series. Also, a little note, if you watched the movie version of this expect NOTHING, or very little, to remain similar to them. And to those who have read the book and are thinking about watching the movie? It'll make you cry inside because of how horrible it plays out

Lestat is THE vampire of all vampires, 2010-07-09 So, you've read Interview With the Vampire and common sense says read the next vampire chronicle. Excellent plan. YOu won;t be disappointed.
Or maybe you have stumbled across this accidentally? If so, then trust me, this will be the best stumble you make.
Interview with the Vampire was compelling, spellbinding and absolutely beautifully written. The Vampire Lestat takes it to a whole new level. The protagonist this time is eloquant, self centred and utterly intoxicating. And for anyone into the whole bloodseucker thing, Lestat is sex on legs. I know for a fact my neck is his and his only...
The story is intricate and lulls you in, so that when the clock stikes 3am you have to scratch your head, unsure where the time has gone. But Lestat has had you.
The characters are lovable and dark and very scary. The description is gorgeous and forever pulls you in deeper.
If you are a fan of Anne Rice, then you will not be disappointed, this is Rice at her very best.
This book is a must for any dark fantasy or vampire lover.
Read it :)

armand is rice's best character!, 2010-08-07 I have read the first couple of Anne Rice's vampire chronicle books and was thoroughly entertained- the character of armand always drew me in and I wanted to know more.
'The Vampire Armand' is clearly the best Rice book I have read even now after reading a couple more! The imagery, the heightened emotions is brings and everything about it is just brilliant! This book made me review my standing on recent vampire novels and notice how they are totally dwarfed by this series of books!!
I urge anyone who loves vampires and stories of times long since past to pick up this book and give it a try.
Pure genius.
