This book has what the title suggests: instant notes. For an undergraduate this book is an absolute must have. Everything is here in short consise paragraphs, along with clear easy to learn diagrams. It may not have the level of detail of biochemistry text books such as stryer, but is ideal as a quick reference for almost everyone- not just first year students. I think the best aspect of this book is the metabolic pathways which i found easy to understand, and learn. If you are having difficulty with understanding some aspects of biochemistry then buy this book!!

This is a great text book for biochemistry if you need find and understand the facts fast. It has great diagrams and illustrations that make it easy to visualise the concepts and it is written in a way that makes it easy to understand complex mechanisms.

Really useful for AS Biology!, 2007-12-04
I am currently revising for the first module of Biology AS (cell biology, biochem, genetic structure and cell division) and have found this book really useful to revise from. It not only helps my understanding of the biochem topics because the chemistry is covered in more detail (I study chemistry as well) but is also easy to read from when revising and the text is supported with pretty pictures! (Clear diagrams are key when it comes to revising biology topics)

Great text for all dent/med students!, 2003-10-08
As a first year dental student, i was required to study a module in biochemistry, this book made it easy. It turned what were complex and previously confusing concepts into simple ones with out missing any of the smaller details. It provided enough detail to use ase a great reference for essays. It is great to combine with a basic revision style text book like instant notes in biochemistry, as it clears up many of the points these books only cover in passing detail.

Great book of Biochemistry, 2006-07-01
This book is like a bible of Biochemistry. It is easy to read and has many pictures that helps to understand the text. The book has been separated into four different parts. I had some trouble at first to understand all the special language. I got over the barrier, and now I have studied the book.
