Average rating of 5/5 Makes Physiology Easy, 2004-02-13
Schmidt-Nielsen is an invaluable addition to any zoologists book collection. It covers all subjects neccesary for physiology modules, from electric production in eels to the workings of neurones and hormones in all animals. All concepts are explained well and to degree level, but are written in a way that is eaily read and digested, a perfect book for the student who is a bit bogged down in the subject. THIS BOOK IS A PURCHASE YOU WILL NOT REGRET!!

Average rating of 5/5 Easy read about feeding your horse, 2007-06-22
I found Clare's book composition very easy to read. It is scientific without being too heavy to understand. The book reads easily as the chapters follow on well from eachother so they make sense. The chapters run from talking about how the digestive tract works, feeding behaviour, nutrients, feeds and supplements, pasture, practical feeding, feeding for reproduction and growth, feeding for physical performance, old age, more naturally through to clincal nutrition, laminitis and tying-up and puts to rest a lot of the feeding myths that we've all heard.

I found it easy to read and easy to understand on a subject which is usually so hard to get to grips with.

Recommend it wholeheartedly.

Average rating of 4/5 A good revision aid for clinical medical students!, 2002-01-10
Howard & Hamilton have written an indispensible revision aid for all aspects of clinical haematology. The text is well written, clear and easy to understand, complemented by lots of useful photos and diagrams. The book is set out in a two page per topic format, allowing ease of use especially when panicking before exams.

A good text to buy as both an introduction to, and revision aid for, the confusing and sometimes complex subject of haematology.
