An important book, 2008-03-02 Despite the flat earthers who will not accept what everyone from NASA to Stephen Hawking, to Harvard to Yale to Oxford to Cambridge to the American Academy of Sciences has - that climate change is deadly serious and caused by human activity - this book shows exactly why you should be getting involved and tking this issue seriously. It explains how the world started to wake up to what is happening. If you want to know who has tried to stop us from taking any action read the brilliant and essential BOILING POINT by the Pulitzer prize winning author Ross Gelbspan

Brilliant, 2008-02-26 Excellent book! Really well laid out, good glossary and an easy to use index (which not all text books manage!). Anyone studying conservation/habitat management/ecology would really benefit from owning this. It has some brilliant chapters including a chapter on: Ecology; Fresh Water Ecology and Coastal Ecology and Geomorphology. There's also a whole appendix of Habitat, vegetation and land classifications (including critiques) and another on Phase 2-3 ecological sampling. Brilliant!

Everyone should read this book., 2006-11-02 I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book despite it being the first book I've ever read on environmental issues. The book is written in a clear, catchy and humourous style. It is educational without patronising the reader. The author is realistic about what powers we have to make changes which can positively impact on the environment and offers good suggestions on what we can do. It is a must read for anyone who feels guilty about their contribution towards global warming. I finished reading this book feeling more positive and hopeful about the future.
