Average rating of 5/5 Excellent!, 2005-09-01
As duck books go this really is as good as it gets. Great information well presented, and a pleasure to read. Lots of factual information pleasantly punctuated with anecdotes of the author's experiences. It has something for everyone from the complete novice to the hard core experienced duck keeper. All aspects of duck keeping are covered, housing, nutrition, incubation, rearing and illnesses to name but a few. The early sections decribing the characteristics of various breeds is hugely useful to a novice helping to decide what breed is most suitable for you given the environment you will be keeping your ducks in. If you don't own this book, buy a copy. If you don't have any Ducks, buy some so you can justify owning a copy of this book!

Average rating of 5/5 The best of the best, 1999-05-17
Of all the books I have read on growing grapes and making wine, and I have read a few this is the most comprehensive and useful. Jeff Cox is a master at making even the most difficult aspects of viticulture easy to understand. I recomend this book to anyone looking for an all in one guide to turning vines into wines.

Average rating of 5/5 Snappy Sounds, 2007-01-22
My 2 and a half year old loves this book and the other 3 Snappy Sounds books that I have purchased for him. The sounds encourage interaction and enable the child to recognise situations and objects. I recommend it for bedtime so that the parent can help and ensure that the books are not damaged. I am currently planning which ones out the series to buy next!

Average rating of 5/5 Subtle agriculture for a world in crisis, 2008-04-16
Masanobu Fukuoka defies western or modern agricultural techniques going down to the basics of traditional japanese life. No chemicals and no digging the land for an abundant and long term harvest. Planting with the heart. Mindfulness...
The book and Masanobu himself impressed me and I find myself following his path like that of a guru.

Average rating of 1/5 Should be prosecuted for false advertising, 2008-06-14
This book has hastily drawn sketches with vague measurements and some pictures. If you are looking for chicken coop plans then don't let the title mislead you - it's a lie. Plans, in my understanding, give the details required to make an item, not just some scrawly overview. Artistic license gone wrong! Absolute rubbish! Should get minus five stars! DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Average rating of 5/5 The most helpful book for beginners, 2005-09-08
As a new beekeeper, one becomes overwhelmed by conflicting information from all the other beekeepers with whom one comes in contact. This book is sensible, realistic, and humorous, and doesn't assume that everyone wants at first to know all the amazing science stuff! If you only buy one beekeeping book,(which you won't) make this the one! It will tell you all you need to know to start. Don't forget the bees have been doing it longer than you!
