Average rating of 5/5 An ideal guide, 2010-06-15
This book is everything a guide book should be - informative, inspiring, educational & as a bonus - amusing. It is not just a picture book like some guides- the writing style is really interesting which makes you want to read further & discover more. We found it extremely useful & would recommend it.

Average rating of 4/5 Nice read, 2010-08-22
Interesting book, really nice and easy to read. Shame it's so heavy, not convenient when backpacking.

Average rating of 5/5 Clear, comprehensive and to the point - Excellent !, 2010-06-18
Most useful guide, covering all aspects of travel, with very interesting and clear way.

Average rating of 5/5 Witty and well written: brilliant book, 2010-05-26
The authors' enthusiasm for Hungary is clear - it's fantastically informative, really easy to navigate and a great read. And it's funny. Love the information boxes. We used it mainly in Budapest but have now read most of the rest of the book, too. Great stuff.

Average rating of 4/5 Good guide but let down by the maps, 2010-08-10
I bought this book for a recent trip to Hungary and found it extremely useful. The amount of information ranging from train travel to public toilets is very extensive and provided some useful tips in advance! I used the book mainly for Budapest and Lake Balaton and found it to be very accurate. The only thing which was different were the prices (which is to be expected anyway). Alongside the practical information the history and culture section was also very informative and helped in understanding what the tour guides were talking about for many attractions!

The one thing that was disappointing were the maps. They were nice to look at but there was no connection to the maps from the text which was very frustrating. It would have been ideal to have a map reference for each attraction so it could be found on the map. Also the map was quite vague, at a guess I would say 1 out of perhaps 4 roads were marked. So if you are planning to walk around then I would get a better map since this would not last long.

So, overall a very good guide (even though it is a few years old), just let down by the maps!
