Customer Reviews
Average rating of 5/5 Small but mighty!, 2005-11-25
This pocket size book does an excellent job in explaining the importance of Rachel Carson's work and its continuing relevance today. The writing is astute, lively and funny and cuts through the science jargon that normally makes most discussions of Silent Spring so tedious. Despite its petite format, the book is packed with photos and the layout draws the reader in. The book is a great resource for students studying Rachel Carson's work, but it is also an engaging read for anyone interested in the emergence of modern environmental thinking.
