Average rating of 5/5 I Truly Love This Book!, 2009-12-18
This book gives you a science hobby you can do any time you are outdoors to take you mind off worrying and the petty thoughts of life. The drama and majesty of the clouds plays out, oblivious to the tiny ants crawling below, with their scheming, selfishness, and cruelty. Clouds are noble and they all have names and knowing their names makes them your friends.

Average rating of 5/5 ** Outstanding: a Book of The Year for any year. . . **, 2010-01-02
In 2009, only two books -- out of a host of titles read in our household -- stood out so far above the rest as to be in a class of their own: Jeff Dawson's "Dead Reckoning", a mesmerising page-turning chronicle of the Dunedin Star disaster in 1942, and this one: The Cloud Collector's Handbook.

A gorgeous "user manual" to a parallel world of mysteries and marvels that exists above our heads, this pocket-sized publication is perfect in size and perfect in content: informative, comprehensive and, above all, imbued with a joyous sense of humour.

After purchase, it went on holiday with us, and was as much in use over in France and Spain as it was here: suddenly, a cloudscape has become as rich a source of enjoyment (and even, inspiration) as a landscape.

We liked the book so much, we've bought another as a Christmas gift.

Reviews here on Amazon were pivotal in our decision to buy, and the overwhelming majority have proved to be accurate and dependable.

However, we must take issue with one comment about the size of the colour photographs: there's nothing wrong with any of 'em, and considering the handy pocket-size format, it's a tribute to author and designer that they've managed to package so much in such a space.

Verdict: a 100% thorough-going gem. Unmissable!

Average rating of 5/5 The Cloud Colectors hand Book, 2010-02-20
A very useful informitive book which can easily fit in a pocket or bag to carry with you so you can always see what the clouds mean

Average rating of 5/5 Warning! ... This book could turn you into a cloud geek ..., 2009-12-25
Not that that is such a terrible thing.

Be prepared to spend your idle hours glancing skyward 'spotting' clouds, for this book is a spotter guide. You get points for each type of cloud you spot and extra points if it has a 'special feature'. There is space to record where and when you spotted your cloud - and even what the weather was like.

This little book is so informative that you will soon be regaling family and friends with your new found wisdom regarding clouds - and indeed, the type of weather certain clouds bring with them.

This book is small enough to fit nicely in your handbag/pocket - and the when you score your first points - you feel very satisfied. You may even want to join the Cloud Appreciation Society - but again, be warned - if you do, there is no going back! And you will very soon be singing the praises of all types of cloud (except the altostratus - which everyone agrees is the most boring of all the clouds).
